Your privacy is important to me.
The long and short of it is this: I collect some information from you whilst you visit my website. The information I collect isn’t anything special – any website can collect it. I will never sell or give away this information to anyone.
Aside from the contact information you submit in the contact form, the only other information I’ll collect from you is about where you go on the website, and is used to generate statistics of visitor activity on andrew.harrison.org.
This information is transmitted automatically from your computer and is able to be seen by all websites you visit. It often includes information like what Operating System you are running, what Browser you are using, your IP address and what city you are in. It doesn’t include any personal information.
The information is analysed by Google Analytics, and is stored on their servers. To do this, Google Analytics will store a “cookie” on your computer — a small text file that keeps track of what you are looking at on the site.
I’ll only ever use that information to customise the content on my site to enhance the experience. I’ll never sell or give it away.
The contact form is the only time I collect explicit, identifiable information from you. The form only asks for your name and email address so that I can write back to you.
In addition to your name and email address, the contact form also collects your IP address [for security purposes], the referring page [which page sent you to the contact form] and the time and date you sent the message.
Once again, I will only use that information to reply to you, and I will never sell or give it away to anyone, ever. Should I wish to pass your contact details on to someone who can help you further, I will get your express written permission first.
If you’d like to know more about the information that’s collected, or if you’d like me to filter out your information from my statistics, get in touch with me by email or the contact form
